Positive Material Identification / X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) – is one of the modern methods of spectroscopic investigation to obtain its elemental composition. It can analyzes various elements from beryllium (Be) to uranium (U). This method is based on the collection and subsequent analysis of the spectrum obtained by exposure X-ray on test material. The irradiated atom goes to an excited state, consisting in the transition of electrons to higher energy levels. Further, according to the number of quants and energy it is determined the material structure.
